Katherine Jernstrom is an active entrepreneur, operator, and investor primarily in Alaska and the PNW. In 2013 she cofounded The Boardroom, a coworking space headquartered in Anchorage AK. She led the company through fundraising efforts, multiple expansions and ultimately to profitability. In 2014 she joined Alyeska Venture Management as Managing Partner, a firm focused on building, funding, and supporting local startups. In 2016 she cofounded Launch Alaska, a program supporting startups in Alaska, and is an active mentor and advisor for many early-stage entrepreneurs through her role as Entrepreneur-in-Residence at the University of Alaska, Center for Economic Development. Katherine grew up internationally, she has a BA from the University of Washington, an MPA from the University of Alaska Anchorage and is a graduate of Leadership Anchorage, a Pew Charitable Trusts program. She serves on both private and charitable boards including Spawn Ideas, Heather’s Choice, Anchorage Downtown Partnership, and is a Rotarian. At age 30, Katherine was named Top 40 Under 40 by the state-wide Alaska Journal of Commerce. She lives in Anchorage with her husband and two dogs and enjoys travel, off-the-beaten-path adventures and giving back to her community.
