AK: Alaska Manufacturing: What's Working & What's Next?
Presenters: Jenny Tse, Owner of Sipping Streams Tea Company; Megan Militello, Owner of Elevated Oats; Samson Sheperd, Owner of Arctic Manufacturing Services; Kate Mitchell, Owner of NOMAR

Alaska has an extremely diverse and long-standing relationship with manufacturing. Whether it was Alaska Native tribes "manufacturing" clothing, communities, and art or Big Oil executives "manufacturing" oil to export to the rest of the world, manufacturing has always been a part of our economy — and likely always will be. But what does the future of manufacturing in Alaska realistically look like?

During this panel discussion moderated by NIST's Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP), we're sitting down with four Alaskan manufacturing businesses to ask just that: What's challenged them, what's worked for them, and what they think is next. Our panelists come from all across Alaska and have a combined experience of over 50 years manufacturing in Alaska; join us to hear their thoughts, ask your own questions, and think forward — not backwards — for our manufacturing future!
